What does having a high gloss blade instead of a standard blade do for your average player? Are there any advantages to having a certain type of blade, or is it purely cosmetic? Thanks!
Why do some pros use different blade materials?

I would say pro's go for blade strength and durability. You rarely see any high-tech blade on from the 300$ sticks on what the pros use. They break way too easily.
I can't remember the last time I've seen a blade break on a high-end retail stick so I don't think that's it.
Custom everything.
