Have never taped over the toe but as a center I get these little Knicks in the toe, will taping over the toe help that?

I'm not sure.  I do it, could just be a placebo.

I believe it does. Any time you can prevent chipping has to help with longevity in my mind. Can.t hurt and doesn't exactly take much to do it.

I started taping over the toe of my sticks a couple years ago for this exact reason, and it helped tremendously.

definitely it helps.

i go one step further and run a layer of tape along the bottom from the heel to the top of the toe before i tape the blade, definitely don't chip as much.

This ^

I go from the heel all the way around the top. Then do the normal tape top including taping over the toe.

I usually run electrical tape along the bottom and around the toe, then tape over the toe. I've always done it and have never had a problem with chipping.

out of curiosity why run electrical tape instead of normal tape along the bottom, are there some better benefits of the electrical tape?

For me it doesn't really wear down at all and its more resistant to cuts and potential chips.

I also find the tape that doesn't peel off the bottom of the blade is easier to get off with electrical. But I mostly do it for durability and effectiveness.

Well, if at the very least, taping over the toe can't hurt. Haha

I've always done it with mine though and have never had a problem. I use to do the extra strip along the bottom and toe but have stopped because it didn't seem to make a difference to me.
